Spinal Adjustments & Joint Mobility

A chiropractic adjustment, also known as joint manipulation, is a modality that is used to help increase joint range of motion, reduce pain, and improve muscle tension. Our office practices Diversified Adjustments, which involve a high amplitude and low amount of force on a joint restriction. If you are experiencing joint pain, decreased joint movement or chronic stiffness then you could benefit from an adjustment.

Cupping Therapy

There are several forms of cupping, however, we practice a technique called dry cupping. This simply means we are not taking any fluids out of the body. During a dry cupping session, suction cups are placed along the skin and are left to sit (static) or moved around (dynamic). By applying the cups, we increase blood flow to the area to help promote the healing cascade as well as reduce muscle tension in the area.

Trigger Point Release

Trigger point release is targeted soft tissue therapy where pressure is applied to a trigger point in order to encourage the tissue to relax. Trigger points can cause both local and referred pain if left untreated.
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation (IASTM) is another form of soft tissue therapy we use in the office where the doctor will use tools in order to break up tissue adhesions.

Performance KT Taping

By applying the tape to the area of concern, patients have reduced pain because contact from the tape helps to override pain signals being sent from the brain, reduced swelling/bruising due to the upward lift from the tape and increased proprioceptive feedback to help with positional awareness.

Strengthening Exercises

Our doctors have extensive experience in strength training, which helps us to educate our patients on the correct exercise they should be doing for their specific condition. Getting our patients moving is our number one priority in helping them to achieve their goals.
In addition, we also offer structed exercise programming after you have completed your rehab program. Ask for more details at your next visit.

Pregnancy & Postpartum Care

Dr. Colleen Harmon specializes in Pregnancy & Postpartum Exercise. This allows her to work with patients who are dealing with pelvic floor problems such as bladder leaking, minor uterine prolapse, coccyx pain, pain during intercourse, or pelvic floor tightness. All the work is done externally and focused on restoring natural body mechanics. Care can begin, before, during or after pregnancy. These techniques also work on individuals who are not pregnant.
